One Event! Two Races!

9 and 10 October 2010 at Stromlo Forest Park, Canberra, Australia.

Welcome to the 24 Hours of Adrenalin World Solo 24Hr Mountain Bike Championships and the 2010 Scott 24 Hours of Adrenalin Australian 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships. Did you notice the long names? Here’s why.

A World First. In 2010, for the first time in its 12 year history, the 24 Hours of Adrenalin World Solo Championships is leaving North America. CORC was awarded the rights to host this event last year so now it’s Australian’s turn to show the world what 24 hour mountain biking is all about. With a few world solo champions under our belts already, where else could it go? And it looks like being BIG. With a bit over 3 months to go, entries are already double the previous largest world solo race.

Old Faithful. CORC’s Scott Australian 24 Hour MTB Championships, the largest of its type in the world, has now affiliated with 24 Hours of Adrenalin so the great fun and participation event that everyone loves is still the same, still at Stromlo, but with a new (and longer) name.

Two Races. The World Champs and the Scott are two separate races. They will use the same start/finish areas, but out on the mountain, it will be two separate courses, marked with different coloured arrows. Separate courses provide for a more even playing field for the solos, knowing that any rider they meet out there is one of them. But they won’t get lonely – not with 400 of them out there, and the open nature of Stromlo allows solo and team riders to see each other for a lot of each lap.

There you have it. This site contains all you need to know to become part of Australia’s biggest ever 24 mountain biking festival, and we look forward to seeing you in Canberra in October.

History of CORC's 24 Hour Race

The first 24 hour mountain bike race in Australia was run by Canberra Off-Road Cyclists (CORC) and Dave White in 1999 at Deeks Forest.

The 2010 Scott 24 Hours of Adrenalin Australian 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships is a teams race only. There are no solos in the event this year. Nominal team sizes are 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10.

Schools Teams (8)

All riders in a Schools category team must have been enrolled and attended a secondary school at some time during the 2010 calendar year, must be aged between 14 and 18 (inclusive) on 9 October 2010, and do not all have to be from the same school. The special young rider provisions do apply to Schools Teams. See that section for how to apply for a rider who is aged 12 or 13.

A nominated parent or teacher for each school team must be at the race site for the duration of the race and must be contactable on the mobile phone number provided with race entry.

The school team size is nominally 8 riders, however school teams can be between 6 and 8 riders.

Corporate

The corporate team entry is the cost for the riders only. If a corporate team requires a team marquee close to the transition area, that must be hired separately within the online entry system.

If you have purchased a corporate entry, plus a team or expo marquee, then you can split your corporate team up into 4/6, or 4/4/2, or 4/3/3. Email timing@corc.asn.au for more details.
